BABE RUTH'S BASEBALL (#7) "RED & BLUE" 6"x6" Oil (SOLD!)

PURCHASED BY COLLECTOR FROM NY,NY

George Herman Ruth, Jr. (February 6, 1895August 16, 1948), also known as "Babe", "The Great Bambino", "The Sultan of Swat", "The King of Crash" and "The Colossus of Clout", was an American Major League baseball player from 1914-1935. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest baseball players in history. Many polls place him as the number one player of all time.
Although he spent most of his career as an
outfielder with the New York Yankees, Ruth began his career as a successful starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. He compiled a 89-46 win-loss record during his time with the Red Sox and set several World Series pitching records. In 1918, Ruth started to play in the outfield and at first base so he could help the team on a day-to-day basis as a hitter. In 1919, he appeared in 111 games as an outfielder. He also hit 29 home runs to break Ned Williamson's record for most home runs in a single season.
