Henry Louis "Hank" Aaron (born February 5, 1934 in Mobile, Alabama), nicknamed "Hammer", "Hammerin' Hank”, or "Bad Henry”, is a retired American baseball player whose Major League Baseball (MLB) career spanned the 1950s through the 1970s. Throughout his career, Aaron had many accomplishments and records. His most notable achievement was setting the MLB record for most career home runs with 755, which he held for 33 years until being surpassed by San Francisco Giants outfielder Barry Bonds on August 7, 2007.

Bonds holds the all-time Major League home run record, after hitting his 756th home run in a game against the Washington Nationals on August 7, 2007, surpassing Hank Aaron. He also is the all-time career leader in both walks (2540) and intentional walks (679). He holds numerous single-season records, among them the single-season Major League record for home runs (73), set in 2001. He has won a record seven Most Valuable Player awards. He hit his 757th home run on August 8, 2007, and #758 on August 10, 2007.

George Herman Ruth, Jr. (February 6, 1895 – August 16, 1948), also known as "Babe", "The Great Bambino", "The Sultan of Swat", "The King of Crash" and "The Colossus of Clout", was an American Major League baseball player from 1914-1935. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest baseball players in history. Many polls place him as the number one player of all time.
Although he spent most of his career as an outfielder with the New York Yankees, Ruth began his career as a successful starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. He compiled a 89-46 win-loss record during his time with the Red Sox and set several World Series pitching records. In 1918, Ruth started to play in the outfield and at first base so he could help the team on a day-to-day basis as a hitter. In 1919, he appeared in 111 games as an outfielder. He also hit 29 home runs to break Ned Williamson's record for most home runs in a single season.

I decided to place the ball higher up, right at my eye level, which gives it that "larger than life sense." I also wanted to give it that classic: "lets play ball feeling" through placing it under the nighttime sky and lights in the middle of a baseball diamond, on the ground. The ball is situated between 1st and 2nd base on the sand, and behind it is the nocturnal baseball field. The stadium lights are very bright, and emblematic of the "big game."

Richard Morrow Groat (born November 4, 1930 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania) is a former two-sport athlete best known as a shortstop in professional baseball. He played for four National League teams, mainly the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals, and was named the 1960 Most Valuable Player after winning the batting title with a .325 average for the champion Pirates. From 1956 to 1962 he teamed with second baseman Bill Mazeroski to give Pittsburgh one of the game's strongest middle infields; he led the NL in double plays a record five times, in putouts four times and in assists twice. At the end of his career he ranked ninth in major league history in games at shortstop (1877) and fourth in double plays (1237), and was among the NL career leaders in putouts (10th, 3505), assists (8th, 5811) and total chances (9th, 9690). Also an excellent basketball player, he was twice an All-American at Duke University and played one season as a guard in the National Basketball Association.
